I know that everyone wanted to be kept up to date on my job progress, and I have to admit that I've been holding out on you guys since Thursday morning.
Actually, I was offered a job on Wednesday night, but I didn't like the second person who interviewed me, and he would have been my direct boss, so I turned that job down. The woman on the phone sounded disappointed that I was "no longer available" to work at their company.
After I turned down that one, I was kind of freaking out, since I really need money and had turned a paying job down. My fears were put to rest on Thursday morning when I got a call from the placement agency I had been talking to, and they said that I had been offered a position by "the employer".
This job is not going to be rocket science, but I'd rather not belittle the work I'll be doing for the next 6 months minimum. You see, it's a 6 month contract. I'd rather have something permanent, but at least it's full time. Also, they woman who interviewed me/is going to be my boss, seemed really nice.
If I can get a seat on the bus in the morning (which is highly doubtful), I'll have close to half an hour to knit in the morning.
So anyways, the job is basically clerical support. I'll have to do filing, stuff with mail, maybe computer entry stuff, etc. It seems pretty basic.
I wanted something fairly basic, so I can work on getting in the habit of working, and having a super set schedule. I'm going to have to be at the bus stop by 7:20am every morning, Monday to Friday. YIKES!! I am, however, happy that it's Monday to Friday. I feel like such an adult.
Oh yeah, I start tomorrow. Did I mention that already? I'm totally freaking out!! I'm really nervous. Will I like the people I work with? Will they like me? Will I remember anything that they tell me? Will I be able to get up early in the morning everyday?
I have no idea! I'll give it a try though.

Good luck with your new job! I'm sure you will do great!!
I'll keep my fingers crossed for your bus seat! I wish I could knit in the car but I get car sick! :(
Congratulations on your job.
Congrats! I know you'll be able to get up early enough, and you will do great!
Wow!
Congratulations Chrissy.
It'll take some getting used to but hang in there, I'm sure you'll do wonderful. Good luck and happy knitting!
1. I will never, ever see you at the bus stop. I'll still be asleep. On the other hand, while you're having dinner, I'll still be working.
2. I think it was a smart move to say no to an employer who gives you the no-feeling.
3. Good luck tomorrow. Hopefully in the week we can do lunch and look all modern-career-womanly at some cafe downtown.
Congrats on the new job!! I hope your first day went well... :-D
I'm sure you'll do fine, just don't miss the bus! :P
P.S. I'm learning how to knit socks this weekend! Sweetness! :D
