Dishcloth Obsession, And Some Raw Chicken...

I finished off my third Garterlac dishcloth this morning. I've put the link to it in my sidebar under "Free Patter Gems". These dishcloths are like drugs.

I've switched over to Bernat Handicrafter Cotton. My local Michaels doesn't carry Sugar n' Cream. There's one lys that sells it, but they don't have very many colors. There's another one a bit farther out, but they sell it for like $4.50 a ball! They must be on drugs if they think people will pay that much for Sugar 'n Cream.

Anyway, the Bernat will do just fine for now, until I get my butt in gear and order S & C off the internet. The only real difference between the two yarns is that the Bernat only has 60 something yards, so it's not enough for 2 cloths like the S & C. I do end up with some left over, so I'm experimenting with doing a smaller plain garter stitch rectangle. I think this will make a good washcloth. I just cast on for this this morning, so I'll let you know how it works.

Here's something weird --- I ended up eating raw chicken last night. Not purposely, but I still felt like an idiot. Don't worry. I think I'm fine.

I was starving when I got home, and I didn't want to eat right away, because I wasn't sure what time Stu would be home, so I put off eating for a while.

By the time I found out he was going to be pretty late, I was starving. I rifled through the freezer, and found some Chicken Florentine. It said it could be microwaved, so I was like Sweet! I'll be eating in no time. I followed the directions exactly.

It was starting to get dark at this point, and I didn't have any lights on yet. I was eating by the light of the TV. The chicken was piping hot, and was actually pretty good.

Half way through the chicken breast, the TV got brighter, and as I took a bite, I realized that the chicken wasn't white like normal cooked chicken, it was closer to the raw chicken color.

I jumped up and flipped the light on, at which point I realized that all of the chicken was still raw! Needless to say, I'd pretty much lost my appetite at this point.

I knew I would be facing some ribbing from Stu, since he's the one who normally cooks dinner. I was right. He said, "Geez, I leave you alone to fend for yourself for dinner for ONE night, and you almost kill yourself with raw chicken!"

I'll leave you with some kitty love---

I would be happy to send you dishcloth yarn. Let me know. I'm having problems again with the comments and have to sign in as anonymous.

Your experience with chicken is why I don't eat meat anymore. I'm too scared that it's not cooked properly and that I'll get sick. The funny thing is that I got food poisoning this summer from a salad!

Your discloths look great! I'm going to try one tonight.

The dishcloths look great!

Be careful with the chicken, it always scares me when it's pink.
