Today Was One Of Those Days...

...Actually, I've been having a lot of those days lately.

(You don't have to read about the work issues, but I'd love to hear your thoughts)

Don't you love how much easier it is to leave a job when you are hit hard in the face with the reasons you're leaving everyday. That's what's been happening to me lately.

I've been really trying hard to not let stuff bother me and to just not care, but I'm not like that. It's just not me. Stuff does bother me. I don't think that it makes me a bad person to get upset when people are being treated badly. Especially when that person is me.

In a nutshell, here's what's bothering me most....

My supervisor is unprofessional. 1) She is the queen of the eye-roll, which drives me nuts.

2) I (along with a few other co-workers) got to listen to a 20 minute rant yesterday about how bad 2 other people in the office are. I couldn't believe it. Actually, I could believe it, but I really didn't want to think she was that unprofessional.

3) She is in charge of training, but does not know how to do most of the stuff, so she makes it up as she goes along, and then tells the rest of the team that we are wrong. I hate that!!!

4) No one can tell her anything. When she thinks she's right, there's no changing her mind. Even if it's her supervisor who is telling her that what she's doing is not procedure!

You may be wondering why she's still there! I'll tell you---

There has been a mass exodus from my office since I started (and I hear it's been going on for longer than that), and they will not fire anybody. You don't have to be competent at what you do, or a good employee in any way, and they will not get rid of you. Ever!

Even when the crappy employees get new jobs, they try to convince them to stay.

We've been doing a little poll over the last couple of weeks, and in our office of 250, we've managed to find one person who likes her job. This is not an exaggeration.

I'm sick of being treated like crap, and I'm thinking that I might be coming down with something ;) (Cough, cough). What do you think? Justified?

Oh, I should add that I am absolutely unable to avoid this person. She is sitting right beside me "training" all week.

Sorry, I know this is not knitting related at all, and it's funny, because I purposely did not blog last night, because I knew it was going to be a work rant. Tonight, I figured I might as well blog, because work at this job is not going to stop sucking!

I finished a dishcloth this morning. It's a gift, but I can't say for who, since it's for Christmas. See, I learned my lesson from last year, and I'm starting my gift knitting early.

It's the pattern from Mason Dixon Knitting and is knit with Sugar 'n Cream yarn in Black and White (shocking! I know!).

Same problem at my office with the exception that we call her "Runs with knives" She is nice to your face and stabs you in the back the minute your back is turned. She has worked there for 8 years and countless people have quit because of her...who knows....I stay becuase it irritates her to no end:D I won't let her control me and it pisses her off...

But you have to do what you have to do and I support you no matter what.

The dish cloth is fabby by the way:D

Did I just hear you "cough" again?
.....hehehehehe

My husband tells me that I'll never be able to work again because things like your supervisor's behavior really drive me crazy and get on my nerves.

I love the contrast of your dishcloth!

Hey, it's your blog, and you're entitled to a work rant! It's good that you're almost out of there.

Just keep chanting that mantra, "I'm almost out of here...but you have to live with you forever!" All the while smiling at her, of course. :)

The week's almost over!

Ugh, I totally don't miss the work woes!! Sorry you have to deal with it, but hooray for a new job!

The dishcloth looks great in black and white!

Good luck at a new job.

Some places you just can't change...you either have to deal with it and feel stressed, or move on and find something better. I'm happy you were able to find something new.

I think that you should definately stay home. You wouldn't want to get your co-worker sick would you? Aren't they miserable enough as it is?? Thank goodness you are on your way out of that circus.

The dishcloth is lovely - great idea for a Christmas gift. :)

My work doesn't fire anyone either. We had a guy who passed out drunk at work twice and we didn't fire him until the THIRD time.

Just think of how awesome your last day is going to be! Knit to save your sanity!

Love the dishcloth, it looks fantastic.

So sorry to hear about your work issues...I hope they become more tolerable...

Though can I just say that I am so, so happy that I don't work in an office...I don't have the patience ;o)
