Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig....

My Mom always said that when we got home from family trips as kids. Actually, it wouldn't surprise me if she still says this.

We had a great time away. We packed up the cats last Saturday, and headed up to the cabin. Stu had to work on Monday and Tuesday, so I actually spent nearly 3 days with only the cats around. I survived on hotdogs and pancakes.

I spent almost the whole time listening to podcasts and knitting. I finished a pair of plain vanilla Yarntini socks in the Boardwalk colorway. Stu saw the colors and said they were the perfect color for me. I agree. They also go with my favorite pink crocs.

I used one skein, and 2.5mm dpns. I wish I had such a beautiful setting to take pictures at home.

Interestingly, our cabin is on a small (4 acre-ish) privately owned island (luckily my in-laws are the owners), so I really did spent a few days stranded (Stu had to take the boat back to Vancouver) on a deserted island.

Tomorrow I'll share with you what I brought when planning to be stranded on a deserted island, as well as my favorite new (to me) podcasts.

Not only did I arrive home with a new pair of socks, but I also have a nice tan, and my hair is totally bleached out. I look like I've been on vacay.

PS. The cats had so much fun running around from dawn til dusk. I felt terrible having to bring them home to a one bedroom apartment. They seem to be adjusting though. Lots of sleeping (I think they're still tuckered out from all the travel).

Very fun socks! I like the colors also - and I really must say you are a total knitting fiend! I can't finish a thing lately, it feels like, so I am a tad bit jealous! :)

You've had my dream vacation... a deserted island, unlimited knitting time, no demands, lots of sun, and a sexy male voice whispering in my ear

Love your new socks! Gotta love nice, bright colors like that.

I bet I'll wish to be on a deserted island very soon. We leave for our trip to Alberta tomorrow. Being cooped up in the Big Rig with two kids for a week out won't be fun. (Especially since we're leaving earlier than necessary cuz they don't want the load til the 14th. This was we can sight-see and drive shorter days. Normally he leaves Monday, deliver Friday.) But I'm getting to see my best friend who I haven't seen in five years. Good thing I'm taking lots of knitting!

Love the socks and the beautiful pics of you vacation. Looking at all your socks I think I am going to stick with plain knit and use the yarn for the pattern. All your socks rock
